Devon Kalberer: Each component must be connected seperatly to the home theater reciever in order to hear it through the speakers. You should run the you HDMI cable from your BD player to the TV and the optical cable from the BD player to the reciever. Cierra Gadbaw: You are on the right track. Using HDMI cable to connect your blu ray disc player will send video and audio to the tv and the optical audio cable from the tv will send the multi channel audio from the tv to your home theater. You do not need to connect another cable from the blu ray disc player to the home theater. Hope this will help you out.
